Boiler Operator

The boiler operator is responsible for the start-up, safe operation and shutdown of boiler systems.

Personal duties

• Performing routine daily inspections including testing of boiler function and chemical feed water treatment.


• Recording daily operation logs and reporting any anomalies in the boiler to the maintenance team and management.


• Determine if the risk from the boiler are at acceptable levels or if any additional measures are required to achieve this.


• Operating and adjusting steam boilers.


• Maintaining a safe operating environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.


• Proactive and highly motivated.
  
  · Previous experience of completing daily inspections, testing water treatment and recording the results.

· Ability to work well under pressure

· Ability to work unsupervised and function as part of a team

· Capable of working accurately at speed with a wide ranging remit

· Willing and keen to undertake relevant training to develop skills in relation to the post

· Willing to travel and participate in overtime/weekend work including overnight stays
