Full Job Description

We are looking for an individual to work closely with our Finance team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure compliance with legal requirements, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.

The ideal candidate will work independently and will be based in Ilford (East London).

Responsibilities:
Key data into accounting system

Generate sales invoices

Credit control management - key contact for customers

Posting purchase invoices

Performing bank reconciliation

Liaising with suppliers and managing expectations

Reconciliation of VAT, to ensure all posting accurate

Diarizing key dates for compliance

Key contact with banks

Main finance person for day- to day queries, alongside Accountant in team

Producing financial reports - budgeting / forecast

Responsible for sales ledger and purchases ledger

Analysis for aged debtors and creditors

Ensure year-end complete with Accountant in team

Correspondence with HMRC, Companies House, Charities Commission

Correspondence for any other governing bodies i.e. ICO and OFCOM

Maintain accurate records for filing - hard copies and online folders

Support for associated companies

Perform other ad-hoc duties as required, This job description sets out the scope of the role of a bookkeeper. It does not include or define all tasks which the post holder may be expected to carry out. Duties may vary from time to time without changing the nature of the post or the level of responsibility. The post holder may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by their line manager.

A bachelor's degree in accounting / finance or a related field. Alternatively studying towards AAT, or other accounting qualification.

Must have 1-2 years' experience in an accounting environment, however this can be re-considered upon application of knowledge obtained through study.

Proficient user of Microsoft office, including Word and Excel

Proven to be self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines

Ability to use their own initiative

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to adapt and assist with other areas of administration

Excellent written & verbal skills

Solutions orientated upon identifying problems

Helpful in progression of finance team and work at large

Trustworthy in dealing with financial matters

Desired criteria:
Relevant industry experience

Application of Xero (Full training will be provided if new to Xero)

Sage 50

Sage payroll

Knowledge on payroll or pensions would be helpful
