Full Job Description

This is an exciting time at Longford Park Primary School as we would like to expand our wraparound childcare offer. We are looking for two additional members of staff to join our team of Learning Assistants who run our breakfast and after-school clubs - allowing us to also offer an earlier start and later finish time.

The successful individuals will be confident in providing support, and encouraging imaginative safe playtime activities, ensuring children feel safe and cared for. They will supervise children in the play areas to ensure the orderly conduct, welfare and safety of children during Breakfast and After School clubs.

This is a great opportunity for a valued member of the local community to help ensure procedures are carried out safely and consistently.,

  • Work collaboratively with the Longford Park team in the development and delivery of an effective programme of engaging activities to support children in our pre- and post-school provision;

  • Undertake activities with children that promote the positive development of their social skills, emotional regulation and mental health.

  • Provide high quality care and wellbeing to children by responding appropriately to their emotional and physical needs.

  • Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and secure environment and act in accordance with the school's policies and procedures;

  • To demonstrate their commitment to working as part of the school's successful team, the aim of which is to ensure that all children receive outstanding and inspirational experiences at every phase of their time in school.


  • Full training will be provided for the following:

  • Safeguarding and Child Protection;

  • Food hygiene;

  • First Aid;

  • Fire evacuation procedures

  • Any other training which becomes relevant

    Enthusiastic about working with children;

  • Calm, reliable, compassionate and flexible;

  • Organised with excellent communication skills;

  • A team player willing to take on various tasks as required;

  • Able to develop positive relationships with children, parents and staff
