The Breast Unit is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to the role of Health Care Support Worker. This role will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely to support patients with the Breast Unit at the RUH.
You will be working closely alongside a wide range of clinical and administrative teams to ensure that patients have a comfortable and safe experience of various Breast Clinic appointments.
As you can expect from this type of role, you will be expected to support clinical colleagues to implement plans of care and prepare patients for clinic. The successful candidate does not have to have completed a qualification prior to appointment. However, the expectation is that the successful candidate will commence working on the essential qualification, of level 2 in Health & Social Care or the Care Certificate, upon starting in post.
We are looking to appoint a kind and organised individual who has NHS experience or relevant transferable skills, good at communicating with people/customers/patients and experience of working in a team. This position sits within a busy Breast Unit, with a supportive team and structure as well as opportunities to personally develop.

At the RUH we're proud to put people at the heart of what we do, working together as one team to make a difference for our patients, each other, and our community. No matter what your role is, we value everyone's contribution in supporting the exceptional, person-centred care we pride ourselves on.

We value our differences, champion kindness and civility, and truly believe that diversity makes us stronger.

We value staff wellbeing, with a well-established programme of support. We believe in a holistic approach spanning all aspects of living a healthy life, including physical, emotional, spiritual and financial wellbeing. We've even got a pool!
We are committed to supporting you and hope you want to join our team.
