Full Job Description

JW Lees Brewery Greengate Middleton Manchester have a vacancy for a Brewer to join the Production Team. You will be operating across all production areas and within our 10-barrel experimental brewery. You will assist and support the leadership team with day-to-day operational management, ensuring that the Brewery is working as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The Main Roles & Responsibilities:

· Deliver quality objectives in line with the ISO 9001 Quality System.

· Malt handling, wort production, fermentation, conditioning, filtration and cask and keg racking.

· Yeast management.

· CIP of brewery lines, vessels and packaging equipment.

· Assist within the Laboratory, ensuring accurate data collection and record keeping.

· Ensuring good stock management for ingredients associated the brewing process.

· Follow written SOP's ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained at all times.

· Ensure NAV requirements and data entry are fulfilled within a timely manner.

· Stock movement and rotation using FLT including front clamps.

· Assist with the preparation and delivery of production plans to meet quality and delivery targets.

· Ensure that you participate in management training programmes to assist with your continual personal development.

· Promote the health & safety and welfare of all Production Team Members in accordance with all relevant legislation.

· Ensure a consistently high level of hygiene for all plant and maintain good housekeeping of the department and surrounding areas.

· Must have a flexible approach to cover the demands of a busy the production environment.

· Experienced working within a brewing environment and hold a Level 4 Brewing apprenticeship or an IBD General Certificate in Brewing.

· Positive and upbeat with a "can do attitude".

· Hardworking and self-motivated.

· Be willing to learn new skills.

· Able to display leadership behaviours, leading by example.
