Full Job Description

Support the matchday safety operation by providing assistance, direction, and safety advice to spectators visiting Pride Park Stadium in a polite, courteous, and helpful manner. Build rapport with fans throughout the season, ensuring you are always alert, helpful and approachable., 1. Attend at least 70% of home league games held at the Stadium on dates and times as required and directed by the Matchday Safety Officer.

2. Ensure compliance with Club attendance notification procedures and absence reporting procedures.

3. Attend events held at the Stadium on dates and times as required and directed by the Safety Officer.

4. Provide high-quality customer service through assistance, direction, and safety advice, with a focus on those fans who are deaf or hard of hearing.

5. Provide BSL interpretation for announcements, safety instructions, and other important information during events to fans.

6. Facilitate communication between deaf and hard-of-hearing fans and other staff members.

7. Attend all pre-match briefings, listening to any additional safety information relevant to the matchday or event and covert operations happening within your area.

8. Implement and enforce the ground regulations and conditions of entry.

9. Remain in your allocated position at all times unless authorised to leave by the Matchday Stewards Supervisor or Matchday Safety Officer.

10. Prioritise crowd safety by being vigilant and maintaining awareness of the surrounding area at all times, monitoring the crowd for signs of distress, density, or disorder.

11. Proactively search and identify areas for hazards, defects, or suspect packages.

12. Report any unusual activity incidents and defects following the correct procedures and without unnecessary delay when appropriate.

13. Ensure a clear understanding and knowledge of all emergency procedures.

14. Complete all necessary paperwork during each matchday or event and ensure a complete debrief with the Matchday Stewards Supervisor before going off duty.

15. Ensure all exit routes, vomitories, and stairwells are kept clear.

16. Assist in emergency procedures, including evacuations of Pride Park Stadium, with a focus on those fans who are deaf or hard of hearing.

17. Perform duties with due regard to Club policies and procedures and legislative requirements at all times.

18. Remain on duty until the Matchday Safety Officer or senior team advises.

19. Undertake and attend additional training as identified or as required.

20. To be responsible for customers' and colleagues' health, safety and welfare, complying with health and safety guidance and policy.

21. Continuously work to maintain, embed and improve the club's safeguarding provision, ensuring the highest standards for safeguarding children and adults at risk.

22. Respond to all emergency messages and announcements quickly and effectively.

23. Maintain a good standard of knowledge concerning the stadium layout and location of essential medical rooms and emergency equipment.

24. To uphold and promote organisational policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work and including equality, diversity and inclusion.

25. To present and promote an appropriate public image representing the organisation.

26. To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the post.
