Our clients are varied and widespread throughout the UK and we are therefore now able to offer flexible working arrangements to all our staff. We are looking for collaborative and motivated Senior Building Safety Consultants to deliver a high-quality service for our clients. Our Building Safety Assurance service focuses on assisting designers with the Building Regulations Principal Designer role (both in-house and to our clients) and assisting clients to comply with their duties. Your Purpose:

  • Advising and assisting clients and in-house teams in fulfilling their responsibilities under the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended) and the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Delivering the Building Regulations Principal Designer function for clients as set out in the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended).
  • Use their skills and knowledge to work with designers to review building regulations compliance in design and to help develop practical solutions in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Undertaking a wide range of Building Safety Consultancy duties in line with agreed service deliverables.
  • Undertaking building regulation compliance audits and site inspections to ensure compliance is achieved.
  • Reviewing building regulation submission packages, undertaking gap analysis reviews, plan appraisals to identify any missing information required to secure building regulation approval.
  • Potential to deliver building regulation compliance training (internal and external).
  • Learning and applying quality assurance principles.
  • Keeping up to date and abreast of relevant legislative and best practice changes.

    Strong background interpreting and applying the building regulations and associated secondary legislation relating to projects, and a good understanding of the technical and functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010.
  • Sound technical Building Regulations knowledge combined with an understanding of design and construction and capable of delivering a solutions-focussed service.
  • Excellent stakeholder facing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • An understanding of the importance of attention to detail and accuracy in all your work.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to seek guidance on occasions from senior colleagues.
  • A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software packages.
  • A professional manner and outlook.
  • The ability to work concurrently on a portfolio of projects.
  • Relevant professional chartership/accreditation with either CABE, CIOB, RICS.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Building Safety/ building regulations compliance/design compliance role
  • Demonstrable understanding of construction and design
  • Full UK Driving Licence
