At Co-op Live, safety and security are our top priorities. We are looking for Building Security Supervisors to manage the team of security officers and support the team in delivering an industry-leading safe venue, where we will lead the way as we aim to meet or exceed security legislation and standards to ensure all fans and artists feel safe and secure. Based in the Security Control Centre, the Building Security Supervisor will have a key role in supporting the Venue Security Manager in the operation of the venue on both event days and non-event days. Our 24/7 security team will work with colleagues to deliver a safe and memorable experience for all fans, visitors, and staff at the venue. This is a salaried position, working 4 days on and 4 days off on 12 hour shifts covering both days, nights and event shifts. Responsibilities:
- Carryout reviews, management of risk and debriefs to continuously develop our procedures
- Manage shift rosters for the security team
- Be the point of contact for the venue during night shifts
- Manage shift handovers and debriefs for the next security team coming on shift
- Deliver an elevated fan experience on event days by ensuring any radio calls or incidents raised with the security control room are logged and actioned
- Clearly and confidently pass messages from staff working on the ground to all colleagues across the venue using the radio network and other means of communication
- During events, liaise with the Event Control Room to pass messages, notifications from the building management system(s)
- Respond to any specific fan needs around access and ensure we are providing an environment that is safe for everyone
- On non-event days, respond to and delegate any security related issues that become apparent and take appropriate action
- Assist in bag searches on entry to the venue and assist with staff accreditation
- Assist in all vehicle and delivery screening
- Support the facilities management team with regular building checks and logging any issues via the Facilities Management reporting procedure
- Assist and review the issuing and tracking of venue keys
- Respond to alarms and other incidents both during operational hours and out-of-hours monitoring from the Security Control Centre
- Ensure all equipment is regularly tested and fully functional, especially before event days and working prior to events logging any issues with the IT Support team
- Log and report any incidents including, but not limited to, building security, crime and anti-social behaviour, crowd dynamics, safety issues and system/equipment and ensure they are resolved promptly
- If an emergency arises, calmly and safely assist with the evacuation of the venue under the direction of the incident management team
- Work with emergency services as required when directed by the duty venue manager or venue security manager, NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Spectator Safety
- Conflict Management and resolution training
- Customer Service training - we will provide a full induction for all new team members joining Co-op Live
- Manual handling training

- Experience of working in a security/supervisor role in a similar environment
- Experience of leading a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of security systems and operations, use of a radio system, monitoring of CCTV and the ability to log incidents
- Current holder of the SIA CCTV Operator's license
- Current holder of the SIA door supervisor's license
