Full Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to operate one or more types of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles
typically having a maximum gross weight (Max GW) up to 44 Tonnes. The Incumbent will operate Tractor & Trailer
(Articulated Lorries/Trucks) and buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers on public roads (or equivalent) in a full range
of traffic conditions and at highway speeds. Will drive tractor trailers and/or other vehicles typically having a GW of up to 44
Tonnes. Will drive one or more types of passenger buses which carry 16 or more passengers. Perform operator maintenance.
Maintain records and documents actions.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work
environment., 1. An appropriate, valid UK Category 'D' and C+E driver's license is required for the position as well as a DCPC
license.

2. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth. A physical will be required for this position.

3. The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or
holidays.

4. Shift work and working at the weekend may be required.

5. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions
covered by this CPD may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or
accident testing.

  • May be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set

  • of the incumbent.

  • Knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a Max GW under 44

  • Tonnes such as heavy load in-line trucks, or interstate motor coaches and knowledge of operating Tractor & Trailer
    combinations of up to 44 Tonnes.

  • Knowledge of operating buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers


  • Knowledge of cargo handling and hauling and techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo.


  • Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle operation., Applicants must hold UK citizenship and have lived in the UK for at least 8 years out of the last 10 years for this
