BDO is recruiting a Business Administration Assistant for our Business Support Hub (BSH), a team within our National Business Support stream. The Business Support Hub provides administrative support for all BDO offices across the UK, fulfilling many requests from our client/audited entity facing teams, Practice Management Departments (PMDs) and the wider National Business Support stream. The BSH is a flexible and dynamic team ready to provide exceptional support and quality work for our key stakeholders to reduce their administrative burden. As a Business Administration Assistant within the BSH, there will many opportunities to develop a varied skillset and broaden your experience in readiness for future development to Personal and Executive Assistant roles supporting partners across the business or within the BSH and onto management. This will be a challenging and rewarding role where you will:

  • Play a key role in delivering exceptional client service to our colleagues and clients
  • Be exposed to all areas of the business and learn about the services provided by an accountancy firm
  • Be able to influence the day to day running and development of the BSH
  • This will be a challenging and rewarding role where the successful candidate will provide key support to the business as follows: Responsibilities will include:
  • Creating and maintaining client records in the firm's CMS system
  • Working with the firm's core systems to update records, eg AlphaTax
  • Drafting Letters of Engagement and Disengagement Letters
  • Preparing and formatting PowerPoint and Word documents to a high standard in accordance with the firm's brand/CVI guidelines
  • Creating folders within the firm's document management system (DMS)
  • Monitoring firmwide mailboxes and distributing emails to the correct person(s)
  • Creating important client packs; accuracy and attention to detail required for printing, scanning, binding client information
  • Providing ad hoc office based assistance
  • Assisting with project work as required, such as invoice distribution, data cleansing, processing bulk updates in firmwide systems

    IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Office and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Well presented with a professional level of communication - both verbal and written
  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach
