Full Job Description

  • Fulfil the role of Office Manager within the Manchester office

  • Act as the Manchester office 'Admin & Office' function lead, with accountability for compliance with business administrative procedures and provide local delivery of administrative duties, supported by the wider office admin team

  • Line management of the office admin team (currently one full time and one part-time administrator)

  • Manage operational and strategic facilities elements, including liaising with the landlord and building property management team to provide a safe and usable office space

  • Support the other office function leads where actions generated by those functions require administrative support

  • This role will report to the Regional Director but will also interface with the business lead for the 'Admin & Office' function and those in similar positions in the other UK offices.


  • The role is proposed to be full time, however candidates who meet the skills / behavioural requirements will be considered for a part-time position provided that this is a minimum of 3 days per week. The role will be fully based in the office, as management of the office facilities and dynamic is a fundamental component of this role.,
  • Applies body of knowledge and skills to specific work and role requirements; expertise applied in a practical way that achieves benefits for the office and wider business. Ensures contribution is in line with business direction and professional excellence. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of relevant professional practises through active management of their own development.

  • Develops strong working relationships inside and outside the team to achieve common goals. Breaks down barriers between groups and involves others in discussions and decisions.

  • Keeps an open mind, recognises the contribution that everyone can make

    Have a minimum of 10 years' experience working as an office administrator, including working as part of and a leader of an administration team

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills

  • Have a strong working understanding of business administration processes including financial and commercial reporting

  • Understands the importance of the office to the business (internal and external perceptions), and acts to satisfy office and business expectations whilst promoting the office as a great place to work.

  • Understands the business environment in which the company operates and considers the wider financial and wider commercial implications of their actions and decisions.

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all staff, including junior and senior levels. Uses listening and questioning techniques to make sure that they and others understand what is going on and effectively transfers ideas and/or information.

  • Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to motivate and inspire those they lead; gives clear direction; drives teams and individuals to achieve. Is committed to developing self and others; improves individual and team performance through assessment, feedback and creating suitable business-related development opportunities.

  • Takes personal responsibility for making things happen and achieving results. Displays motivation, commitment, drive, perseverance and conscientiousness. Acts with a high degree of integrity.

  • Structures and prioritises work in order to achieve office and personal objectives. Establishes courses of action for self and/or others to achieve specific goals., Have a strong working understanding of office processes including Health & Safety, IT and facilities management, Have a qualification in business and / or office administration
