Full Job Description

This is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months. Apprenticeship rates for this post are dependent on age. Please see below for the applicable rates: Level 2 Apprenticeship Rates Under 18 years - £12,655 per annum 18-20 years - £16,900 per annum 21+ years - £22,359 per annum We are seeking a proactive Apprentice Business Support Administrator to support our department in a wide range of tasks. Your responsibilities will include managing orders, sourcing competitive pricing, and coordinating guest speakers, trips, and visits. You'll also liaise with employers and external partners to organise industry placements, workplace visits, and events, as well as support the coordination of apprenticeships. This is an excellent opportunity to develop business administration skills, gain exposure to apprenticeship programs, and play a key role in enhancing both the student experience and departmental operations. What You Will Do

  • Manage Procurement: Handle orders for materials and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness by sourcing the best prices and maintaining stock levels.
  • Coordinate Events: Organise guest speakers, industry visits, and student trips, ensuring smooth logistics and communication.
  • Liaise with Employers: Work with external partners to coordinate apprenticeships, industry placements, and workplace visits.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general office tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing communications within the department.
  • Support Staff and Students: Facilitate the organisation of resources, events, and activities to enhance both staff workflow and student experiences.

  • You are a motivated and organised individual with a keen interest in business administration and the education sector.
  • Possess strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively liaise with employers, students, and staff.
  • Having attention to detail and the ability to multitask will help you manage various responsibilities, from procurement to event coordination.
  • You are eager to learn and develop your skills in a supportive environment and are passionate about contributing to a positive student experience.
  • Previous experience in customer service or administration is a plus, but a proactive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
