Full Job Description

Are you looking for an interesting and challenging Business Analyst role that will give you an opportunity to join an organisation that really makes a difference?, The General Medical Council are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join the Projects and Training team within our Information Systems division to help the team deliver its ongoing portfolio of change.

We work with doctors, patients, and other stakeholders to support good, safe patient care across the UK. We set the standards doctors and those who train them need to meet and help them achieve them. If there are concerns these standards may not be met or that public confidence in doctors may be at risk, we can investigate, and take action if needed.

As a Business Analyst in the Information Systems (IS) Projects and Training team, you'll be supporting our ongoing delivery of technology-driven change, through the investigation, specification, and design of high-quality systems, processes, and services, and supporting their delivery across the whole project lifecycle.

The GMC continuously strives to provide its userbase of 1500+ staff with the best possible IT systems, and the IS Projects and Training team is central to this, working alongside other IS functions and with the wider organisation to deliver new and/or changed IT systems and services.

You may be asked to work independently on feasibility studies, options analysis or other project scoping/defining activities, as well as working closely with Project Managers and other colleagues across the full lifecycle of change projects, from developing the Business Case and gathering requirements, through to business acceptance and benefits realisation.

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the GMC by helping to coordinate work across IS, and working closely with other teams and the wider organisation. Your contributions will support the GMC in being a fair and inclusive regulator, and that we continue to provide the highest quality service to our stakeholders.

You can find more detail on the tasks you will undertake, and the essential skills required for the role, in the job description.

We also have a Business Analysis Community of Practice through which you can share your experiences and learn from our more experienced colleagues.
