Your primary purpose as a Business Analyst is bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. By identifying, analysing and translating business needs into functional specifications you'll ensure that solutions meet Admiral's strategic goals, improve efficiencies, remove waste and provide maximum value to end users. This is a fantastic opportunity for versatile BAs who are looking to grow their business analysis experience and skillset within a FTSE 100 insurance company, working within both waterfall and agile methodologies, across a huge variety of projects, programmes and initiatives. The business analysis team is in its infancy so alongside your projects there will also be plenty of exciting opportunities to contribute to the development of the business analysis capability here at Admiral. Main Duties:

  • Organise and facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, shadowing end users as required to understand business needs and problems to solve.
  • Collaborate and engage with stakeholders of all levels to identify and clarify business and technical needs.
  • Undertake analysis of 'as is' and 'to be', customer feedback, data and insights to support identification of business and technical requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation including business and technical requirement documents, use cases, user stories, functional specifications and process diagrams as appropriate throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Architecture and delivery teams to determine optimal solutions based on business needs.
  • Support project managers and project leads with ensuring the roadmap is prioritised based on customer feedback, business value and data driven insights.
  • Support testing and validation ensuring solutions meet business needs and transition smoothly into the live environments.
  • Support 3rd party vendor selection from writing RFI's/RFP's through to delivery.
  • Identify and support the managing of risks, issues and dependencies.

    We are seeking a number of experienced, self-motivated and detail-oriented Business Analysts to join our growing Business Analyst team., Substantial experience leading business analysis activities across large scale IT and Business Changes.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstratable experience of business analysis within agile, waterfall and hybrid environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders of all levels across business and technical roles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to challenge constructively.
  • Extensive experience of translating complex business needs and problems into actionable business requirements.
  • Considerable experience of creating and maintaining detailed analysis. documentation, high level and detailed business requirements documents (BRD's), user stories, use cases, functional specifications and process diagrams etc.
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors, writing RFI's/RFP's and supporting activities from vendor selection through to delivery.
  • Solid interview and analysis skills to support with end-to-end requirements management.
  • Confidence to facilitate wo.rkshops and present analysis with stakeholders and delivery teams of all levels
  • Experience supporting test activities, with the development of test scenario's, use cases, acceptance criteria and BDD to ensure solutions are smoothly transitioned into the live environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft products including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Azure DevOps as well as other software such as MIRO, JIRA, Confluence etc.
  • Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • At least 3-4 years' Business Analysis experience.
  • Experience of working within a Regulated environment, Financial Services and specifically Insurance.
  • Formal business analysis and/or project management qualification (e.g. BCS, CBAP, IIBA, PMP or Prince2).
  • Experience of developing internal Business Analysis templates and artefacts
  • This is a hybrid role with expectations to travel to the Ty Admiral Cardiff office when required.

    We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate's experience.
