Full Job Description

  • Availability to start the 12-month internship on a full-time basis from September 2025
  • You have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship
  • Confirmation that you intend to remain in the UK for the duration of the internship and will be available to work in the relevant Yunex Traffic office for a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Confirmation that the internship forms part of a formal university placement year
    • OR
  • Is unrelated to a university formal industrial placement year
    • OR
  • You are subject to reduced working hours restrictions during "term time" along with details of dates where restriction apply
  • Whether you have any deadlines to confirm your internship or placement year

    We are looking for forward-thinking, inquisitive candidates who demonstrate the following characteristics:
  • Studying for their bachelor's degree, ideally in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Maths)
    • Additionally, you will be required to:
  • Engage with people and teams at all levels of our business, including Engineering, Manufacturing,
  • Sales, Finance and Services.
  • Think creatively, using available tools to develop solutions to challenges.
  • Use a range of IT and digital tools, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Learn new concepts and principles.
    • Whilst not essential, it would be a bonus if you already have experience with:
  • Low-Code development, such as PowerApps or Mendix.
  • Data management or Business Analytics (BA) tools.

    Yunex Traffic is looking for aspiring undergraduates to join our Business Excellence team on a 12-month internship contract as part of our Intern Development Programme.

Yunex Traffic designs, markets, manufactures, installs, and maintains a wide portfolio of international traffic management products and is the UK market leader in the traffic signal business. This includes intersection and pedestrian traffic controllers, intelligent urban traffic control systems, variable message signs, public transport, and car park guidance systems to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow in congested urban and inter-urban areas. The challenge Part of being a #TrafficTransformer intern at Yunex Traffic means you'll gain practical experience working on real projects in a leading, global intelligent traffic systems company. You'll bring fresh perspective to what we do, helping us to achieve our goals. Here is a taste of what you can expect from this internship:
  • Work with teams from across our company to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of business systems and process.
  • Connect with people and bring them together to identify business process challenges.
  • Learn to use tools such as PowerApps and Power BI to collect and process data.
  • Help our teams understand and visualise data so they can make key business decisions.
  • Develop requirements and find solutions that will be used by our teams to improve the business and provide an enhanced customer experience.
    • The location of this apprenticeship role will be: Poole, Dorset Our offices are based 2.5 miles outside Poole city centre and half an hour from Bournemouth. There are frequent direct bus services as well as ample free onsite parking.
