Studios Product Group is a multifunction delivery team focused on delivery of world class direct-to-consumer and business-to-business solutions within BBC Studios
The role provides the opportunity to be part of an exciting and entrepreneurial international team that values creativity and proactive problem-solving.
We are seeking a highly skilled, collaborative Business Analyst to work across several workstreams, a variety of features and platforms within our News product set, including our newly mobilised enhanced News based Direct-to-Consumer service.

  • Collaborate with various disciplines and project teams to help break down technical architecture diagrams and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Collect, understand, own, and communicate the requirements for products, projects, and features, translating these into user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Support any updates to the product backlog and work with product management to keep backlogs prioritised and up to date.

  • Work with the product management team to size backlog items and ensure optimal flow through the delivery process.

  • Collaboratively write acceptance tests with the development teams and test engineers, ensuring the delivered solution meets the requirements and agreed quality criteria.

  • Collaborate with the product management team and any third parties to ensure the delivery of the products and new features to a high standard, and within agreed timescales and budget.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships with product, technical, editorial, and legal teams

  • Help facilitate workshops with delivery and product teams to define user stories and identify acceptance criteria.

  • Research, gather, analyse, and report on customer usage data to benchmark and interpret usage and industry consumer trend data to contribute to the development of product solutions.

  • Evaluate and investigate product solutions using a range of approaches, including researching competitor products.

  • Support the product's transition to 'live' environments, including capturing and monitoring audience feedback, where required., Assist with providing accurate effort estimates for analysis tasks and, once agreed, complete these functions in a timely manner to contribute to the wider resource plan.

  • Practised at gathering, analysing, and interpreting product usage data to create reports and insights to support product decisions based on evidence.

  • Capture and analyse business information needs and ensure that business information is accurately migrated and reconciled, prior to the implementation of any new project, process, or functional change.

    Strong experience working in a BA environment

  • Experience of working with media technology manufacturers/partners, operating systems, platforms

  • Ability to translate business and technical requirements into third party vendor application and operational requirements, as user stories, to ensure there is a common design understanding by all.

  • Help design and facilitate workshops, hold interviews and meetings with business stakeholders and delegates to understand, capture and document existing business processes and desired changes, using standard process modelling techniques to create the 'As Is' and 'To Be' picture.

  • Extensive understanding and experience of business analysis skills, techniques, and practices including writing gathering business requirements, benefit realisation, writing user stories, stakeholder management, acceptance tests and documenting technical requirements.

  • Experience in communicating concepts and ideas to stakeholders at all levels within organisations.

  • Experience with Agile and using the Scrum Framework with multi-disciplinary teams delivering software projects within a variety of methodologies.

  • An extensive knowledge using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Identify and validate user acceptance criteria, working from business requirements, solution design and test strategy, to collaborate with the wider development and test teams and agree the final acceptance criteria.

  • Experience with error handling, improving product features and audience feedback,

  • Understanding of 'live' experience on media products, Recommendations, Personalisation, Search and metadata workflows, metadata tools.

  • Experience working with Third parties

  • Use of Figma and Miro to assist in capturing technical and business requirements.

  • Knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and Signavio.

  • Drive for professional self-improvement in BA activities and career development.

  • General business analysis experience in a new media software delivery environment. Experience of News and SVOD products is an advantage.

    Salary: up to £52,000 plus London Weighting Allowance, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
