Business Analyst - Solid Fuels (d / f / m)

An excellent opportunity exists within RWE Supply & Trading Embedded IT for a support professional to undertake work aligned to one of our Trading Desks. The Freight Operations Desk is dependent on Information Systems, Notably: Trade Capture, Logistics, Position & P&L, Decision Support & Market Data based applications. In particular, they use a third party application, IMOS as the specialist platform supporting Vessel Management capabilities. This Analyst role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, analytical individual. You will be expected to gain a thorough understanding of a highly complex business area and the IT applications that are used to support it. Your responsibilities

• The co-ordination, prioritisation and undertaking of support activities & requests, centered around the Freight business in general and IMOS in particular.
• Co-ordination of tasks & issues across multiple teams, both technical & business
• Develop into an expert in IMOS functionality and RWEST Freight processes
• Constantly looking for improvement opportunities (both functional/technical) through better use of standard functionality or innovative changes
• Provide support to the Freight Trading and Ops teams
• Strong understanding of front to back trade processes
• Strong interaction with Traders, must own problems to satisfactory & timely conclusion.
• Supporting the ongoing maritime sustainability regulations.
• Develop a strong working relationship with multiple external vendors.
  
  A keen interest in the topic of sustainability
• Familiar with the trade life cycle process and experience of working in an Energy Trading environment would be beneficial.
• Quickly develop a good working knowledge of the organisation of the company, and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business processes of RWE Supply & Trading.
• Be able to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and flexibly.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills, and be fully experienced at dealing with technical and business representatives at all levels.
• Self-motivated, self-starter, able to prioritise, work under pressure & use own initiative Related business or technical qualification at degree level.
Technical
• Full development lifecycle experience - from requirements gathering to Implementation
• Experience of working within an agile environment (desirable)
• Strong knowledge of Information Systems within either a Commodity Trading (preferable) or Financial derivatives markets.
• Good understanding of OpenLink Endur, or alternative ETRM system, would be advantageous.
