Full Job Description

The Business Analyst and Tester is primarily responsible for consulting with colleagues throughout the business in order to understand and document the business requirements to such a standard that will allow those applications to be built or amended by the Software Development team. In building accurate functional and technical specifications the Business Analyst and Tester will therefore assist with planning of the project timeframes and consider its wider implications on other development projects and the wider business. Moreover, the Business Analyst and Tester will be testing software modules and then lead / instruct the User Acceptance Testing (beta) with the end users; in turn collating end-user feedback to ensure the functional specification is adhered to. Finally, the Business Analyst and Tester is also responsible for training the end users and acting as first line support to all internal departments to ensure the internal systems are used effectively and efficiently.Your tasks

  • Requirements Analysis Documentation: Work with relevant stakeholders to analyse and document their exact business requirements at both the functional and technical level. Work with those same stakeholders and the wider Development Teams to target continuous improvement of the applications.
  • System Testing: Agree with internal stakeholders a schedule of testing to regularly assess that our applications deliver the expected results. Ensure that resulting improvements identified don't inadvertently impact on other business processes within the applications.
  • User Training and Support: Ensure each application process is documented in such a way that is useful to both the Development Team and the end-user. In doing so, develop and deliver user training where appropriate.
  • Customer Service: Respond to queries from colleagues in respect of any relevant IT issue, data query & more.
  • Work Flow and Project Management: Plan and prioritise own work to meet internal customer/project requirements. Act as Project Manager on appropriate projects as directed by management.
  • Learning & Development Take responsibility for own learning needs and objectives. Work closely with colleagues to progress knowledge and skills base.

    Good level of education (min. 3 A-Level or equivalent) in relevant subjects (e.g. Business / IT). Minimum of 3 year's proven experience of: · Capturing and documenting requirements and use cases, business rules, requirements traceability, UML modelling, flowcharts, using storyboards and using appropriate tools for the same. · Knowledge of Testing standards, tools and processes, test management systems. · Knowledge of SDLC methodologies. · Excellent communication skills with client stakeholders of all levels · Team Foundation Server. Part or fully Microsoft Certified. Other related qualification. Knowledge of and experience with structured defect management processes. Commercial exposure. Practical exposure to web applications & other IT projects. Experience of Project Management.

    There are two roles available, a permanent full-time position and a FTC maternity cover position until September 2021., Fair and competitive basic salary
