Full Job Description

The Business Analyst bridges the gap between business needs and technical solutions. They are responsible for understanding the business goals, target operating models, processes, and challenges and then translating these into clear, outcome focussed requirements for delivery by NS&I’s strategic partners. Their role is to ensure that business objectives are understood and met through the most effective use of technology and processes.
The Business Analyst performs an influential role within the Business Transformation Programme, providing project scope definition, process modelling, gap analysis, requirements definition, feasibility assessments, and support for funding approvals and benefits realisation. Collectively these activities help manage complexity, prevent miscommunication, improve operational efficiency, mitigate risk and support delivery of business value. This role may require some travel to other sites, + Investigate root causes of business problems, or opportunities, identifying where a particular business need exists and shaping the project to address this need.
Business Process Modelling and Improvement
+ Research, analyse and define current and proposed business processes, apply gap analysis to identify actions required to implement the revised processes.
Business Analysis Reports and Presentations
+ Synthesise information, viewpoints and diagrams into objective reports and presentations that enable efficient communication and effective decision making.
Business Case Development and Feasibility Assessment
+ Evaluate the options to meet the business need and support development of the business case throughout the funding approval cycle.
Business Requirements Definition and Validation
+ Elicit, analyse and define requirements for business and IT change initiatives, ensuring traceability and alignment across strategic delivery partners.
Business Acceptance Testing
+ Support NS&I people in testing new business and IT changes to ensure acceptability and delivery of agreed business outcomes.
Business Change Deployment
+ Support the deployment of business and IT changes, within NS&I Corporate, to ensure a smooth transition., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

+ Business process modelling and improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean), NS&I is currently working in a hybrid way with colleagues expected to work in the office for 40% of their working month and this will be increasing to 60% of their working month in early 2025. If you are applying to work in London, the role is currently based in Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, SW1P 3BT and in early 2025 it is anticipated that NS&I will be moving out of Sanctuary Buildings and into our new NS&I London office location, Riverside House, 2a Southwark Bridge Rd, London SE1 9HA.
Any move to NS&I from another employer will mean you can no longer access childcare vouchers. This includes moves between government departments. Some Travel only

+ Substantial experience of working as a business analyst, preferably within a regulated environment.
+ Experience of working within complex multi-supplier environments, as part of a (People, Organisation, Process and IT) system integration capability., + BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (or equivalent)
Essential skills
+ Ability to perform holistic and objective problem analysis and take account of upstream and downstream consequences of a proposed change.
+ Ability to articulate analysis through clear, concise and coherent verbal / written communications in order to influence multiple stakeholder groups.
