About The Job
The purpose of the role is to maintain and enhance our Operational Resilience Framework, including Business Continuity, throughout MS ABS as well as our legal entities. You will work with key stakeholders across all business function and across multiple legal entities to understand the most critical aspects that keep us 'resilient', and develop capabilities to prevent, respond to and recover from severe but plausible disruption scenarios.
What you'll spend your time doing:
While there is rarely a 'typical' day within this role, here's a snapshot of some of the key parts of the role - you will be expected to:
Support the creation of a 'Centre of Excellence' for Business Continuity

  • Develop, embed and manage Business Continuity as part of our Crisis Management framework, which will support the strategy and drive consistency and standardisation across all MS ABS' functions and MS ABS' Legal Entities.

  • Guide and assist with the implementation of sound and effective resilience monitoring processes (incl. offering the necessary subject matter expertise on tools and methodologies) that will help with providing oversight and governance of good business continuity practice across the organization.

  • Act as a central point of contact for Business Continuity-related queries and core BC activities.

  • Support the annual cycle of Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), planning, testing, and subsequent reporting.

  • Develop business cases and 'proof of concepts' for new business continuity plans / solutions, Maintenance of business service interdependency mapping (people, process, technology, suppliers, data & premises).


  • Champion enterprise resilience awareness and best practice sharing with our stakeholders
  • Working across teams and multiple stakeholders to help us deliver against the requirements of MS ABS being a robust, professional and resilient service company to our regulated legal entities

  • Coordinate and align the testing schedule for business continuity in line with our crisis management framework; review lessons learned on the back of testing exercises to identify maturity opportunities and track/remediate these towards resolution.

  • Oversight of third-party risk management & due diligence, including involvement in exit planning & testing where required

  • Monitor and report on key resilience and risk indicators, developing inputs for relevant governance bodies/for a (e.g. ExCo packs; monthly reporting)

  • Coordinate and drive engagement with key business stakeholders to ensure appropriate consideration is given to business continuity requirements in periods of business change and product development.

  • What you'll need:
    For this particular role you should ideally have the following:
  • Previous experience in managing a Business Continuity framework, preferably within financial services.

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing & testing comprehensive resilience strategies and disaster recovery plans.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

  • Be a solution-driven problem solver.


  • The following aren't necessary, but regarded as advantageous:
  • A good understanding of the UK regulatory Operational Resilience Framework

  • Experience in third-party risk management

  • Certification in Business Continuity Management (CBCI, MBCI)

    In addition to this, we will look to grow your own Talent and Development career by:

  • Developing your wider knowledge of Operational Resilience by giving you extensive exposure to a number of initiatives (i.e. reporting, IT remediation, Cyber resilience, third party risk management and stress & scenario testing).

  • What you can expect from us:
  • Competitive Base Salary (£50,000-£65,000)

  • Performance Related Discretionary Bonus

  • Holiday: 28 days core annual leave, and you can buy or sell up to 5 days

  • Pension: A minimum 2% employee contribution plus 7% MS Amlin contribution (9%) up to a maximum of 5% employee contribution plus 13% MS Amlin contribution (18%)

  • Flex Fund: £1,000 (pro-rated based on start date) to spend on flexible benefits

  • Life Assurance: 10 x annualised base salary
