Full Job Description
This role is part of the council's Resilience Team. The team works to make NNC ready for emergencies, by assessing hazards and threats, then making plans and procedures to respond. The role will play a key part in helping North Northamptonshire Council prepare for emergencies by working within the authority to develop resilience against disruptive events and emergencies. The role is 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday. After a period of training, you will join an on-call rota that provides 24/7 cover for the council to respond to emergencies that can happen at any time. Although the role is predominantly completed in normal office hours, the nature of the work requires flexibility and a willingness to work unsocial hours as required.What will you be doing? You will be helping NNC to be ready for all manner of emergencies and disruptive events. You will support in developing and delivering a program of work to improve the state of resilience across the whole council and drive the direction of the council's business continuity efforts through our Business Continuity Steering Group. You will work with other parts of the council closely to develop their business continuity plans and procedures. You will help us to manage the authority's response to emergencies and major incidents and take an active part in our responses.
Candidates should have sound knowledge of business continuity management systems and have experience developing and maintain them. Successful candidates must be keen problem solvers. They should be able to produce creative and pragmatic solutions to resilience challenges. Candidates should have good understanding of project management. Successful candidates will have excellent IT skills and be comfortable using tools such as Power BI and others to produce useful data insights. You must be willing to take part in an on-call rota to provide out of hours cover for the authority. This role can deal with some challenging subjects and a great deal of personal resilience can be needed.
