Full Job Description

Reporting to the VP of sales for that Customer Business Unit, you will be responsible for;

  • Developing and maintaining strategic business relationships to promote the Arla Cooperative model, drive our branded and Own Label revenue and profitability.

  • Working as part of, and influencing cross functional working groups both within Arla and the customer to deliver an end to end retailer experience for the Value Retail channel.

  • Delivering the sales volume, revenue & SC targets for the relevant customers, ensuring clarity of objectives and direction across the team

  • Accountable to lead commercial and service performance for specific customers

  • Implement business strategies to achieve profitable business relationships and identify new revenue opportunities with major accounts.


  • Be involved in and/or lead customer negotiations across a broad range of senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the cocreation of JBP's with your customers

  • Be responsible for the identification and delivery of continuous improvements across the customers and within the wider CBU to drive synergies

  • Providing on-going support to high-value customers ensuring that they receive high-quality customer service

  • Leadership of commercial teams ensuring plans are in place and results are delivered

  • Building of capability with direct reports and across commercial function

  • Identifies, develops and promotes talent to support retention and internal talent pipeline

  • Be a Brand / Category lead to represent the Arla Sales community in informing the longer term strategy.

  • Actively contribute to change and leadership activities across Arla through being a member of the Change Leadership Forum


  • What do you need to succeed?

    To be successful in this role you will have significant experience of developing, maintaining and driving customer relationships within FMCG and have experience of leading teams. As a strong leader of change you will be confident in creating your own direction and building commitment internally cross functionally as well as with customers. Furthermore, you will be able to lead and inspire your team to raise the performance bar.

    You will be a commercial leader with a passion for driving and creating customer relationships to unlock future growth potential. Inspiring leader of people with the ability to galvanise a team behind unlocking customer growth and making a positive impact across the organisation., With strong and proven commercial acumen you will be able to source and analyse multiple data points whilst working with category and product knowledge to drive insight and action with your team and customers. Finally given the high levels of private label within your customers previous experience of working with and understanding supply chain end to end along with a high degree of understanding of the commodities market is essential.
