Full Job Description

As our Business Development Chef, you will be field based with regular travel required and can be based at either our Coventry site or site in Glenbervie, Scotland. The hours will be fulltime Monday to Friday with some weekend work when required. Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Culinary Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong culinary relationships with both current and potential customers in the Food Service and Bakery Industry. This role will require regular travel to meet clients, understand their needs, and showcase our innovative culinary solutions.
  • Business Development: Identify and capitalise on business opportunities, securing new contracts and partnerships in the Food Service and Bakery Industry. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to expand our customer base.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with our Product Team in creating new, cutting-edge culinary products. Contribute to the development process by offering your culinary expertise and insights.
  • Product Showcasing: Present our Simply Clever Products in customer food presentations, trade shows, and internal meetings. Highlight the unique selling points that set us apart from our competitors.
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends and competitors' offerings. Provide market insights and help position our products effectively.
  • Reporting: Quarterly review update for Business Unit meetings which includes communication of industry & competitor activity as it occurs.

    A minimum of 6 years of culinary experience, preferably with experience in a development chef or food manufacturing role.
  • Previous commercial experience is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for and deep understanding of food, along with a strong commitment to culinary excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events. Will include international travel.
  • Ability to research and generate ideas is essential.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Have a creative and lateral approach to providing business solutions.
  • Demonstrable capability in managing change.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, confident, and creative.
  • Proven ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
