Full Job Description

KCLSU is looking for a Business Development Coordinator to ensure our students thrive and enjoy the best possible university experience at King's College London. Areas of work will include working with the KCLSU Commercial Team and supporting and developing KCLSU's spaces across 3 London campuses., To increase income levels through hires of KCLSU spaces (activity rooms/meeting rooms, 2 x bars, 2 x cafes) to external clients. Working closely with the commercial outlets, hubs, marketing and catering teams to facilitate successful hires and effective relationship management with clients to ensure repeat custom.,

  • To increase income levels and space usage across KCLSU spaces across campuses, comprising of numerous activity rooms, meeting rooms, 2 bars, and 2 cafes

  • Work on plan to increase income at historically quiet periods of low student usage, such as: early mornings, out of term, weekends

  • To network and develop contacts with companies requiring space hire in the central London area, including key on campus contacts at King's College London and Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

  • Research current market tends and develop appropriate sales prospects and quality leads, identify key decision makers and ascertain specific client needs.

  • Effective account management of clients.

  • Work with the commercial outlet and catering teams to develop holistic packages for partners

  • Support the development of a sales pipeline for venue, meeting room hire and conferencing and working collaboratively with KCLSU colleagues in the achievement of targets and budgets.

  • Working with the Associate Director of Commercial Operations to increase income generation opportunities.

  • To respond promptly and professionally to all enquires and establish processes to receive and evaluate feedback.

  • To develop detailed proposals as required and ensure clients receive accurate and professional correspondence at all times.

  • To operate in accordance with GDPR and KCLSU's Data Promise.

  • Maintain an accurate record system and database of contacts and bookings for private hire bookings in our venues & activity room spaces.

  • Manage private hire process from start to finish, liaising with clients & outlet management teams to ensure events run successfully & revenue opportunities are maximised.

  • Use a range of imaginative and creative solutions to develop income streams that contribute positively to KCLSU financial performance.

  • Line management of casual student staff members as & when required.
