Full Job Description

As Business Development Director you will be a Senior member of the team within the Sales department and play a key role in driving the company's growth through new business. Your focus will be generating new leads and building professional relationships with prospects for the organisation with the support of our Sales and Marketing team to build a strong pipeline of prospects.,

  • Market research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and potential clients to identify new business opportunities.

  • Lead generation: Generate leads through various channels, including cold outreach, networking, referrals, and digital marketing efforts.

  • Proposal development: Create compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to the specific needs of potential clients.

  • Sales and negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients, including pricing, contracts, and terms of engagement, while maximising profitability.

  • Pipeline management: Manage the sales pipeline, track progress, and provide regular reports to the Sales Director.

  • Team collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative, and technical teams, to develop integrated solutions for clients.

  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build and nurture relationships with potential clients and partners.

  • Client needs assessment: Conduct in-depth needs assessments with potential clients to understand their goals and challenges, and recommend tailored solutions.

  • Competitive analysis: Analyse the competitive landscape and positioning of the agency, identifying areas for differentiation.

  • Continuous learning: Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in digital marketing and business development.

  • You will follow the company outreach process as set out by the CIO and Sales Director; 4 touch points to be sent including SEO guide, Paid Social Guide, Messy Middle Scroll and Face Cards.

  • Promote our services through your own LinkedIn channels by posting regular content such as:

  • + Competitor report request
    + SEO Guide
    + Sector analysis reports

  • Communication - You should have excellent communication skills and telephone manner to be able to speak with clients and potential prospects.

  • Motivation - You should be extremely self-motivated in order to continuously be proactive in following up on leads.

  • Time management and punctuality - it is important to be able to manage your own workflow and be on time with deadlines as well as working hours.

  • Confidence - This role requires confidence in liaising with potential and current clients and being able to discuss the most suitable service package for them.

  • Relationship building - You should be skilled in quickly building rapport with clients and prospects to maintain a professional working relationship with them.

  • Attitude - Being part of the sales team requires a positive attitude can-do attitude at all times.

  • Strong industry knowledge and experience - You will already be accustomed to a fast-paced digital agency environment.
