Full Job Description

  • Take a proactive role to identify new business areas and revenue streams.

  • Follow up on all sales leads related to enquiries.

  • Manage existing clients to ensure complete customer satisfaction and the opportunity to build solid long-term relationships, whilst identifying further sales opportunities.

  • To build an excellent understanding of the marketplace and the competitors within that space.

  • Build an advanced product knowledge.

  • Research / generate new business leads / sales.

  • Cross sell products and services to existing customers.

  • Provide support for other departments when required.

  • Co-ordinate activities to achieve agreed goals and exceed targets.

  • Attend on-site client sales visits when required.

  • Carry out client surveys demonstrations as and when required, A full driving licence is essential for this role.

    The individual will preferably be able to demonstrate relevant successful Sales / Business Development Management experience within the business to business / construction industry or similar.

    The individual will preferably be educated to GCSE / O'HND level and can demonstrate sound business acumen and commercial skills.

    An interest in technology / engineered products and systems for industrial applications is essential.

    Personal Specification

    The individual must be presentable and have a consultative approach to sales / business development. Someone that builds relationships quickly and gains the confidence of the client.

    A personable, professional, and business-like manner is necessary, together with a strong desire to achieve key objectives and targets.

    The job holder must be totally committed to the role and be willing to travel throughout the United Kingdom and Internationally on occasions.

    Excellent communication / presentation skills both verbal and written coupled with a good working knowledge of Word and Excel are essential.

    Ability to understand working drawings a distinct advantage.

The continual design and manufacture of systems has provided safety solutions for many different industries and sectors, particularly in Rail, Transport, Utility's, Aviation, and the construction industry., To assist in the setting up of a new proactive sales department within Planet Platforms Ltd. The individual will be responsible for the development and growth of the existing customer base, the identifying and winning of new business across the UK. Selling the full range of products and services the company offer, ensuring continued profitable sales growth for the company.

    This role is based in the UK but on occasions will require international travel. The initial activity will be in the UK developing existing regional clients nationally and working with a number of European businesses to take the products to market.

    Your first couple of months will be working through your induction getting to know the business, products, processes, and people. During this period, you could be based/working from Wakefield 3 to 4 days a week after your induction is complete you will be customer facing and be out in the field 3 to 4 days a week and then either working from the Wakefield office or home office the remaining days.
