Do you have Territory/Area Sales experience? Do you enjoy a sales environment? Do you love meeting a diverse range of people and are a team player? Ever thought of being a Business Development Manager? If so, then Benchmarx Kitchen and Joinery would love to hear from you! You don't need to come from our sector, or have product knowledge, we will provide you with all the training and development you need. Benchmarx may have only been established in 2006, but we're already a major supplier to the UK's building and construction market.

Where will you be working?

Working in this key customer facing role, everything you do is focused on delivering our strategy and nurturing our values. You’ll drive sales and continually review our products and markets to target new business opportunities within your territory. You will build up a network of contacts and customers whilst maintaining excellent communications with key stakeholders in our business.

You will maintain customer satisfaction through regular contact and developing business plans. You’ll work with branches in your territory to execute action plans and increase sales. You will be supported by a Business Development Assistant who will help fill your diary with customer appointments - topping this up with opportunities you have identified and nurtured through both internal and external relationships.

Your working hours will be Monday - Friday 7.30am - 5.00pm

What will you be doing?

Our most successful Business Development Managers come from a variety of different sectors and backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common, they deliver an exceptional ‘Customer Experience’ with true “Sales Ambition and Hunger”.

  • Execute an effective call matrix / cycle which optimises time spent with customers throughout the geographic patch assigned

  • Ensure that all opportunities to develop business within territory are exploited on a regular basis (e.g. sales leads, existing & new sites, local media and branch initiated leads).

  • Work in close liaison with the branches within allocated territory to target customers and to direct necessary resources into generating profitable sales from those opportunities.

  • Liaise with other sales personnel, in order to maximise every opportunity which arises from contacts made with potential and existing group customers.

  • In liaison with Branch and Sales Management, jointly develop local customer base and opportunities.

  • Establish and maintain accurate records of all customer contacts and associated information, updating company reporting systems and databases as required.

  • Form working relationships with sales personnel of key suppliers operating within assigned territory, ensuring that use of effective joint calling activity is maximised

  • Clear KPI’s set to monitor performance:

  • New business prospect leads - Both Kitchens & Joinery

  • Customer visits

  • Interaction with other Internal sales teams, Such as Travis Perkins Field sales to identify customer opportunities,
