Full Job Description

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to manage a solid pipeline of medium to high value, strategically aligned prospects to achieve agreed income targets, supporting our work in the UK and globally.

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end partnership process from identifying prospects, pitching partnership proposals, finalising contracts and launching partnership. Your role will be crucial in helping us raise vital funds to support people in crisis.

A day in the life of a Business Development Manager includes meeting with and building relationships with a diverse group of companies and brands to secure financial investment, build campaigns and drive awareness for the work of the British Red Cross in the UK and globally, supporting communities affected by climate change, providing practical and emotional support to refugees, helping victims of natural disasters and conflicts and much more.

The role of a Business Development Manager might be for you if…

You're experienced - you have a background of working in corporate fundraising, corporate social responsibility, or sales and you've proven track record of securing corporate partnerships.

You're a strong communicator - you're able to inspire and motivate people to engage in charitable activity with an ability to communicate across different media (online, in writing, face to face meetings). You can build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You're a great project manager - you can take accountability for planning and progressing activities and projects in line with key objectives and to realistic timelines.

A little about us....

The Corporate Partnerships team has a successful track record in securing and building long term, mutually beneficial and strategic relationships with UK-based companies. The team works in collaboration with companies across a range of fundraising mechanics including strategic business partnerships, marketing or social responsibility alignment; multi-country partnerships; sponsorship; cause related marketing and employee fundraising. We work closely with other key teams and divisions, including Communications, Community Fundraising, Retail, UK and International Operations and other Red Cross-National Societies to support and encourage fundraising from companies across the country and around the world.
