We are a group of colleges in the Tees Valley; Stockton Riverside College, Redcar and Cleveland College, Bede Sixth Form College, NETA Training and The Skills Academy. Education Training Collective (Etc.) delivers a full range of courses, training and apprenticeship opportunities, as well as professional and commercial courses. Our aim is to create greater opportunities for all of our students and communities by equipping people with the skills to help them into employment, raise aspirations and meet the economic demands of the region. We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Business Development Manager to drive growth in employer-facing provision across the Education Training Collective, reporting to the Group Marketing & Business Engagement Director. As the leader of a small, but incredibly impactful team, you will be a strategic thinker, you will be solutions focussed and use your natural ability to create long-term relationships which employers which result in solutions to the skills challenges across the Tees Valley and beyond. What you'll do:
- Manage and support the Business Development Coordinators to achieve monthly targets for commercial and apprenticeship programs.
- Create and implement innovative operational plans to enhance apprenticeship and training growth.
- Build relationships with large levy-paying businesses to promote and recruit for our apprenticeship programs.
- Lead the development of our CRM system to improve engagement with staff and employer clients.
- Utilize IT systems for effective reporting and financial management.
- Set and review performance targets and contribute to business planning.
- Oversee apprentice recruitment processes and analyse current trends.
- Stay updated on government policies affecting apprenticeships and workplace learning.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and manage departmental budgets effectively.
Education: Relevant degree or equivalent experience in business development or a related field. - Experience: Proven track record in business development, particularly in apprenticeships or training sectors.
- Knowledge: o In-depth understanding of apprenticeship, BELP and Bootcamps processes. o Up-to-date knowledge of T-Levels, Study Programmes, and Industrial/Work Placements.
- Motivation: High degree of motivation to achieve demanding performance targets.
- Business Acumen: Experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Relationship Building: Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, businesses, and stakeholders.
- ICT Proficiency: Skilled in using ICT for tracking performance, delivering presentations, and management reporting.
