Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our high net worth insurance division, Hiscox Private Client (HPC). With a focus on growing the Art & Private Client business (APC), this role involves building strong networks with industry experts, nurturing valuable client relationships, and securing profitable deals. The APC business is an important part of the Group strategy to drive retail excellence, and this role is pivotal in executing our ambitious strategic growth targets and in particular, moving APC back in to growth To excel in this position, you should have a proven track record in business development within the high net worth insurance sector. You will be comfortable collaborating with a range of senior leaders as well as key external business partners, in order to secure the best outcomes for the business and our customers. The successful candidates will be adept at spotting and seizing business opportunities, using your experience to handle insurance negotiations and can deliver results. What you'll be doing

  • Driving business growth by expanding operations in the high net worth insurance market.
  • Delivering and exceeding the performance measures required to support the HPC profit and loss account, whilst looking for opportunities to grow the business in line with the group strategy
  • Leading business development and relationship management with prospective partnerships and clients, to support sales growth.
  • Building and maintaining key relationships with HPC prospective and existing industry partners, in order to generate additional leads.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to boost profitability and enhance sales strategies tailored to high net worth clients.
  • Supporting plans for business growth within Hiscox by working with Operational Managers to consider forecasting, resourcing and operational management.
  • Conducting competitor analysis to increase market share in the high net worth insurance sector.
  • Researching and creating networking opportunities to attract new high net worth clients.
  • Representing Hiscox at networking events.
  • Managing a budget to deliver a return on investment.
  • Negotiating and finalising business deals that ensure sustained revenue growth.
  • Supporting managers in maintaining the UK risk and control environment, in line with delivering great outcomes for the business and our customers.

    Deep understanding of high net worth insurance products and services with the ability to assess the unique needs and risks of high net worth clients.
  • Demonstrable experience in business development within the high net worth insurance industry.
  • Ability to identify profitable business opportunities and potential high net worth clients.
  • Naturally customer focussed with the ability to drive a culture catered around the customer and continuous improvement
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues in high net worth insurance.
  • Strong analytical skills that can be used to analyse market trends and competitor behaviour.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and influence a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent networking skills to connect with high net worth individuals and industry professionals, with the ability to maintain and build strong client relationships and industry partnerships.
  • Proven ability in negotiating and closing business deals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
