Full Job Description

  • Ensure all activities comply with legal, regulatory, contract and internal requirements.

  • Assist the delivery of service plans in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the continuous and on-going innovation and improvement of the service in-line with council objectives in order to achieve excellence.

  • Assist the delivery of a value for money, customer focussed service.

  • Assist the management of relationships with all stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

Examples of the type of work involved:

  • Develop an excellent understanding of LBS IT systems and use this knowledge to support business process design and service improvement activity.

  • Provide detailed analysis and evaluation of data and produce detailed reports and information for teams across LBS. These reports will include but not limited to performance data, spend reports/analysis, volumes, trends, contract data and productivity.

  • Provide advice and guidance to staff and others on complex issues.

  • To ensure that accurate records are produced and maintained for audit purposes.

  • Be the liaison between colleagues on data related matters to ensure consistency of approach and maximise efficiency., Job Purpose: To support LBS with all matters relating to data gathering, reporting, analysis, and interpretation. You will have excellent IT and Excel skills which will be used to support the service with data analysis and performance improvement and specific project work.


  • This role covers data validation, data cleansing, extraction, manipulation, analysis, and data reporting.

    To achieve high levels of efficiency, cost effectiveness and quality, ensuring maximum performance in accordance with the targets, standards, and policies of the Council. To ensure overall value for money is achieved through the effective management of resources.

  • To improve own practice through observation, evaluation, discussion with colleagues and development programmes.

  • To work collaboratively with colleagues, knowing when to seek help and advice.

  • Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the service by attending relevant meetings, training days/events as requested.

    In addition, ideally you will have a proven track record of working as part of a dedicated team and be effective in managing competing priorities and workloads, responding quickly and appropriately to changing needs and be able to demonstrate excellent organisation and influencing skills.   • Knowledge Required
  • Excellent understanding of how a front-line construction and maintenance service operates and the associated challenges.

  • A knowledge of performance metrics used within a construction and maintenance environment.

  • An understanding of the role of Elected Members within the Council and the community.

  • An understanding of the diverse needs of communities and neighbourhoods.

  • An understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity in terms of both employment and service delivery.


  • Experience Required
  • Experience of working in a data analysis / business insight role.

  • Experience of working effectively with internal and external partners to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Experience of problem solving, individually and in a group setting.

  • Experience of successfully presenting complex information to a range of audiences.
