Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Intelligence Team which is part of the wider Business Insight, Policy and Partnerships Service. The Business Intelligence Team are responsible for providing information, data and analysis across the whole council. This role will be specially around Adult Social Services and Housing.

In this role, you will; work alongside the other business intelligence analysts in the team to provide robust data and analysis about Adult Social Care and Housing. Contribute towards statutory government returns. Work to improve data quality and methods for ensuring accuracy. Extract data using SQL and visualise it using Power BI. Provide support to the statutory surveys for Adult Social Care undertaking both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Collaborate with others to produce data and insights that are essential to CQC and directorate assurance programmes of work. Respond to Freedom of Information Requests and other adhoc reporting requests in order to inform Adult Social Care and Housing or other areas of the council as required. Information, data, feedback and analysis is the heart of what we do, to understand the needs of our population now and into the future., Extract data using SQL
Visualise data using Power BI
Contribute towards statutory data collections and surveys for Adult Social Care and Housing
Contribute towards developing data analytics to project future demand
Develop ways to improve data accuracy and quality
Respond to Freedom of Information Requests and any other adhoc requests for information, data and analysis

Work Style

At North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Depending on the role and personal circumstances, you will fall into one of these categories. However, please note that during the induction period, it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development. We are flexible and open to discussions about your preferred working style, and if you wish to be in the office more frequently, this can be negotiated.

This role falls into the category of Mobile Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:

0-1 day in the office
Includes field workers who primarily work remotely.
Comes into the office for meetings or focused work. Virtual connections with the team are essential, with portable technology supporting work on the go.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about data, analysis and preferably Adult Social Care and who possesses the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrable experience of using SQL to extract data from a data warehouse
Demonstrable experience of using Power BI
Knowledge of Adult Social Care and Housing

Desirable Criteria:

Advanced knowledge of Adult Social Care and Housing
Recognised qualification in Power BI / SQL, Disability Confident
