Full Job Description

The Wall Street Journal internship programme is an opportunity primarily for university students in their second year, to work in our award-winning newsroom in London. Final year students (undergraduate and graduate), enrolled in a degree programme by the application deadline are also eligible to apply. You will work closely with other reporters and editors to deliver prompt, accurate reporting of breaking business news. You will be expected to generate your own story ideas and follow those stories through to completion with supervision and guidance from an editor., Please upload one PDF document (max. 5MB); You may upload a second PDF with your work examples if the files are large.   • Dow Jones Newswires: Interns embed with Dow Jones Newswires, the real-time professional news service of The Wall Street Journal. You will work in a fast-paced news environment, delivering short-breaking news stories and analysis on company earnings, executive moves and IPOs to our professional readership of more than 90 million institutional and retail investors.You will also be assigned longer term assignments to pursue on your own or with DJN or WSJ partners.
  • The Wall Street Journal: Corporate news, energy, foreign affairs or U.K. news.

    You should be a self-starter who understands the needs of our audience across multiple platforms and able to work independently under deadline pressure. Dedication to high journalism standards and excellent writing and reporting skills are required. A demonstrated interest in business reporting is required.
  • You should have completed at least one prior reporting internship with another professional media organization or published exceptional work with a campus news outlet or as a freelancer. Fluency in English is required and fluency in at least one additional European language is strongly preferred. Applicants must have the right to work in the U.K.
