The Supplier & Business Relationship Manager is the NS&I Lead on a day-to-day basis with our Strategic Suppliers with responsibility for the management of the supplier performance and service quality. They will work across all directorates and across disciplines including contract adherence, change implementation and service issues (e.g. Incident Management, Compliance and Risk Management). This role will be the key connector, translator and mediator between NS&I business and the supplier(s).
The post holder will work with the supplier(s) and NS&I Business Stakeholders to understand and translate business and customer demands and be responsible for leading activities and as the escalation point, for operational service issues from both the business and the Strategic Supplier.
This role will work with the NS&I business to influence the demand and the service scope to ensure that the services delivered are fit for purpose, and work alongside the Commercial and Finance teams to negotiate relevant terms and/or contract scope with the supplier(s). The Supplier Manager will be the expert on the Strategic Supplier services and future roadmap including identifying, promoting and driving opportunities for continuous improvement.
The Supplier & Business Relationship Manager will manage the performance of the suppliers ensuring successful delivery of the services as defined by the suppliers contracts (Including KPIs, contractual requirements, operational change implementation and agreed processes), and to ensure that the services meet the NS&I business expectation. This role involves building strong strategic relationships between the supplier(s) and the business and they will be expected to co-operate with and influence both all levels of Business Stakeholder and Suppliers to ensure the best outcome for NS&I and its customers., NS&I is currently working in a hybrid way with colleagues expected to work in the office for 40% of their working month and this will be increasing to 60% of their working month in early 2025. If you are applying to work in London, the role is currently based in Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, SW1P 3BT and in early 2025 it is anticipated that NS&I will be moving out of Sanctuary Buildings and into our new NS&I London office location, Riverside House, 2a Southwark Bridge Rd, London SE1 9HA.

NS&I employees on a fixed term contract moving to another fixed term role, will continue to be employed for a fixed term to the end date of this role. You may apply for suitable roles within NS&I or the civil service.

+ Experience of working with complex management information and data within an operational or ITIL based technical IT Services delivery environment. Particularly in regard to technical and operational performance, service introduction/offboarding, contract and compliance management, identification of gaps and areas for continuous improvement.
+ Experience of designing, owning and maintaining the process and procedures and proactive development of Supplier Management.
+ Experience of working with senior business stakeholders to understand the business requirements and demand, managing the supplier to deliver but also lead conversations around expectations of demanding senior stakeholders and challenge aspects that are not in the interest of the business or customer.
+ Experience in collaboration with service management and operations team in high pressure environments such as Major Incidents and end user communication
+ Experience in representing both the supplier and the business within a project management environment and service improvement initiatives, ensuring the best outcomes for all. Managing the supplier to deliver to their responsibilities as part of any project on time and to budget.
