Full Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Business Support Coordinator who will coordinate and execute the operational processes of the National League System (NLS) department; to support the implementation of NLS projects aligned to the NLS strategic and day-to-day objectives and to support the wider NLS Team and Football Operations division.

This role is advertised on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the administration of key NLS annual processes effectively including Promotion Applications, Lateral Move requests, Stadium Accreditation Grade awards and publication of Club Allocations.

  • Provide support to the delivery of Strategic Projects including event management, project management and collaboration with other departments and stakeholders to deliver effective schemes.

  • Communicate and provide information by relevant methods internally and externally to assist and enable NLS operations and effective customer service to Leagues and Clubs.

  • Provide information, advice and guidance to stakeholders on NLS processes and clarifications on queries on the Rules and Regulations as appropriate.

  • Use the identified platforms to ensure that stakeholder queries are dealt with in a timely fashion to ensure a high level of service to stakeholders, including maintaining the information helpdesk.

  • Raise Purchase Orders, process expenses, casual pay and invoices to support the budget management of the NLS.

  • Provide operational support to relevant boards and Committees by providing agenda packs, taking accurate minutes and action plans and co-ordinating meeting dates and arrangements.

  • Provide administrative support to the NLS Player Status team as and when required to meet peak operational demands from the game.

  • Provide administrative support to the NLS Leadership team.

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group's changing priorities.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.

  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance., We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.

  • Knowledge of the National League System from a League, Club and Governance perspective.

  • Knowledge of the operation of Sports Competitions.

  • Experience of working in, or with, a sports setting.

  • Technical Skills:
  • Accurate data input and management.

  • Ability to create presentations and present to a wide range of key stakeholders.


  • Beneficial to have:

    Knowledge:
  • Understanding of the various operations of the National League System.

  • Knowledge of the structures of National League System Clubs and Leagues.

  • Knowledge of the FA Strategy, NLS Strategy and the potential role of the NLS.

  • Knowledge of the FA Stadium Accreditation criteria and process.

  • Degree or higher vocational level qualification.


  • Experience:
  • Experience working in the Sports Industry or Governance Roles.

  • Experience working or volunteering in National League System Leagues or Clubs.

  • Experience delivering diverse projects.

  • Experience working in a political landscape effectively.

  • Experience working with and supporting the operation of Boards and Committees.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.

  • Evidence of experience in project management.

  • An understanding of the use of FA technology to support the administration of a club or league.

  • Ability to create high-quality presentations or communication materials.

  • Degree or higher vocational level qualification in Sport / Sports Business.
