We are seeking to recruit an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Business Support Manager to lead the busy Greater Manchester Business Support Team (GM BST). We are looking for someone to work collaboratively with the regions Operations Management Team whilst managing the GM BST, including line management responsibilities.

+ Line management of staff in your team and overall leadership of your team
+ Supporting delivery of a comprehensive, efficient and customer-focused administration service that plays a key role in the regions acute health protection response
+ Implementation and maintenance of a range of business operations processes to support the regions governance
+ Operating as a member of the regions business operations management team, working collaboratively across the North West

Stage 1: Application & Sift (competency based)
You will be required to complete an application form. You will be assessed on the above listed 8 essential criteria which have been selected from the Job Description , and this will be in the form of a:

+ 1500 word Statement of Suitability
This should outline how your skills, experience, and knowledge, provide evidence of your suitability for the role, with reference to the essential criteria.

Longlisting: In the event of a large number of applications we will longlist into 3 piles of:
+ Meets all essential criteria
+ Meets some essential criteria
+ Meets no essential criteria
An initial sift will be based on the essential criteria: Ability to organise ones own work and that of the team. Candidates who pass the initial sift will be progressed to a full sift.
Please note that candidates in the Disability Confident Scheme will be shortlisted if you meet the minimum essential criteria.
Shortlisting: In the event of a large number of applications we will shortlist on:
+ Ability to organise ones own work and that of the team
+ Ability to lead a team and effectively manage team dynamics to drive forward a shared goal.

Stage 2: Interview (competency based)

Knowledge, experience, skills & abilities will be tested at interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Location
This role is being offered as hybrid working based at our office located at 3 Piccadilly Place, Manchester, M1 3BN.
We offer great flexible working opportunities at UKHSA and operate using a hybrid working model where business needs allow. This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, (averaged over a month).
