Full Job Description

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated and efficient Business Support Officer to join our Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Hub. This is a vital role where you will provide comprehensive administrative and business support to ensure the smooth operation of the Hub.,

  • Administrative Support: Provide high-quality administrative support, including managing all forms of contact (telephone, face-to-face, email, and internet), and accurately recording information.
  • Minute Taking: Accurately take and distribute minutes for meetings, ensuring all actions are recorded and followed up.
  • Data Management: Enter and maintain data on various systems and databases, ensuring information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Coordination: Organise and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communication: Act as the first point of contact for the AMHP Hub, providing advice and guidance to colleagues, service users, and partner organisations.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Referral Handling: Answer calls from various sources, including the public, NHS staff, and the police, taking required information for referrals and signposting where needed.
  • Professional Curiosity: Gather thorough information for referrals before processing and triage referrals confidently.
  • Project Assistance: Assist with specific projects as directed by senior managers and support the development and introduction of Directorate and Corporate initiatives., The AMHP Hub is a dynamic and supportive team dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services across Worcestershire. The team operates a dedicated 24/7 service to deliver the statutory functions under the Mental Health Act (83) on behalf of Worcestershire County Council. The team consists of experienced professionals who work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for service users. As a Business Support Officer, you will be an integral part of this team, contributing to the smooth running of the Hub and supporting the delivery of essential services.
  • The team values open communication, mutual support, and continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to work closely with Approved Mental Health Professionals, social workers, and other key stakeholders, gaining valuable insights and experience in the field of mental health.

  • Experience: Significant experience in an administrative role, preferably within a social care or similar environment. Experience in handling sensitive information and working to deadlines.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to take accurate minutes in a multi-agency setting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Attributes: Emotionally resilient, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure. High standard of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
