Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer within our Folkestone and Hythe Early Help Team. This is a full-time fixed term position until 28 February 2025 working Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5.00pm, based at Cheriton House, Folkestone with some home working. This role is key to providing professional support to Early Help Workers supporting children and families in Folkestone and Hythe and surrounding areas and you will also be part of a wider South Kent team offering support to colleagues., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

We are looking for someone with a calm and organised approach who would like to make a positive contribution. You will need to demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills. You must be able to proactively manage your workload and support the wider team, whilst responding to urgent requests and deadlines. You will often be the first point of contact for our service and need to be confident in liaising with families, colleagues, and professionals within a multi-agency environment. We are looking for someone with administrative experience and who is confident dealing with a variety of responsibilities and using a range of IT packages (MS Applications, Databases, etc). You will be responsible for handling sensitive information, checking and recording data, as well as liaising with colleagues to arrange and support a variety of meetings. Our support is crucial to allowing Early Help Workers to focus on supporting local families. You should enjoy working as part of an effective team but also work independently to a high standard whilst working remotely.
