Full Job Description

The Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) Team is a multi-disciplinary team providing expert independent assessment and support to families in care proceedings where drugs and or alcohol are a significant issue. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary FDAC Team and ensuring effective collaboration with partner agencies. FDAC has an established track record of forming effective working relationships with parents to address problem drug and alcohol use so that children in our communities are provided with safe and secure care. This is a unique safeguarding role that provides an opportunity to work with a broad range of professionals and organisations, including being part of the growing national network of FDACs. Our benefits We are committed to continuous improvement, building a skilled, knowledgeable, and flexible workforce alongside promoting innovation and creativity whilst keeping children, young people and families at the heart of all we do., As a Business Support Officer in the FDAC team you would work to provide a comprehensive business and administrative support to the FDAC team. You would liaise with the Court Clerk to book Court hearings; submit a high number of reports (substance testing, assessment and Court updates) to Court and the parties to the care proceedings; maintain an accurate record of these report submissions; type up and submit to Court and parties the notes from the non-lawyer FDAC hearings and meetings; ensure timely and cost effective provision and maintenance of resources; carry out financial administration including raising purchase orders. You will also be responsible for supporting the team with the collection and recording of quantitative and qualitative data.

You would be an important part of a specialist team who work with parents and children. You would need to communicate effectively with parents, children and professionals. It will be important to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with partner agencies. This role will be vital to enabling the team to be effective in their work. As the successful candidate you would have experience of business support work. You will be a good team player and be equally capable of individual work.
