Business Unit Accountant - An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Financial Management team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB). We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and self-motivated individual to join the existing Surgery Finance team on a permanent basis, providing high quality financial support to the Trusts budget holders and operational management. This is an excellent opportunity to gain financial management experience in a large Acute Hospital setting. A pivotal role within the financial management function, managing and co-ordinating the production of monthly reporting for the Business Unit/Units in an accurately timely manner.Main duties of the job Building key relationships with operational managers and clinicians within the Business Unit, gaining detailed understanding of services to support planning, improvement, forecasting and decision making. To lead and manage members of the Financial Management team, supporting development and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in our systems and processes. The Trust has Business Units that report to itsfour Clinical Divisions, Surgery, Medicine, Cancer, Diagnostics and Clinical Support and Women's & Children's. Each Division has a Finance Business Partner as its finance lead who is supported by Divisional Finance and Information Manager (DFIM) and Business unit Accountants (BUA) along with other Financial Management support staff.

Highly professional and resourceful individuals are sought with a customer focused attitude alongside the ability to balance competing priorities. Highly developed communication skills are essential with the ability and confidence to influence Senior Managers and Clinicians across the Trust.
