Full Job Description

Buyer will be responsible for determining demand, maintaining system data integrity and management of ordering and expediting activities in support of business requirements. In addition, the successful candidate will be accountable for the development of relationships with key suppliers and ensuring current and future performance meets expectations. Will work closely with internal customers to identify, develop and deliver effective commodity strategies that will support the future needs of Parker Meggitt. Responsibilities

  • Ensure that deliveries are scheduled from appropriate sources of supply to support customer demand whilst satisfying business requirements (delivery, inventory, cost, quality etc).
  • Verify demand driven by MRP and take appropriate actions in response to changes in demand, inventory levels, supply issues etc.
  • Effectively manage supplier relationships to optimise performance and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Resolve any day to day issues and support wider supply chain performance objectives.
  • Requests for quotation, purchase orders and expediting activity to ensure timely delivery of products and services at desired quality levels.
  • Maintain integrity of system data at all times.
  • Manage selected categories and suppliers.
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement at all times.

    Minimum 2 years' experience in Procurement/Supply Chain role.
  • Experience within Aerospace or other High Technology industry would be an asset.
  • Focused, committed with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of driving projects through to completion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels internally and externally.
  • Computer literacy including competence in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint Word & SAP.
  • Experience managing MRP demand within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
  • Outstanding negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Creative with ability to think outside the box - excellent problem solving skills.
