Full Job Description

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders. Role and Responsibilities

  • Trade Commodity purchasing
  • Daily and Weekly orderbook management for all responsible lines, highlighting any late deliveries
  • Supplier delivery on time
  • Raising of new purchase orders, dealing with pricing enquiries, entering order confirmation
  • Reviewing late lines and actioning, informing the relevant planner
  • Management of suppliers and orderbook, building excellent supplier relationships.
  • Escalation of any issues to purchasing supervisor / relevant sourcing analyst.
  • Master data management - update and maintain master data for responsible items, MOQ's, price breaks, safety stocks
  • Managing & reporting KPI targets - delivery on time, confirmation of purchase orders
  • Invoice processing, resolving blocked invoices & amendments of purchase orders
  • MRP Exception management

    Previous Purchasing experience
  • Strong IT skills including excel, including relevant MRP experience, SAP would be advantageous
  • Proactive, strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritise and manage workload in line with demanding business requirements, achieving expedited turnarounds with suppliers when required.
  • Must be able to think creatively and logically and be able to work in detail without supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
