Full Job Description

The Estate department of the Victoria and Albert Museum is looking for a CAD & Data Coordinator to join their team. This is a good opportunity for someone with architectural background and CAD skills to gain experience in design, construction, project handover and mobilisation. Based primarily at the V&A South Kensington, the post-holder will work on the update and production of CAD drawings, 3D models and digitisation of estate data, as well as planning and delivery of space solutions. As we expand into East London, the post holder will be also involved in the improvement of our data management and the adoption of new technologies (training provided where necessary), contributing towards a wide range of design processes and projects.

  • Understanding of architectural and structural design principles
  • A good understanding of AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.
  • An ambition to develop a career in an associated field, such as architecture, civil engineering or similar.
  • An understanding of the project management process and the principles of the construction process
  • An ability to survey physical assets to produce the relevant drawings and documentation
  • Good standard of written English (GCSE Grade C equivalent) and numerical ability to perform a range of calculations
  • Experience of communicating clearly, with the ability to adapt your communication style for different groups
  • Experience of using MS Office and other relevant IT systems to an intermediate / advanced level
  • Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Interest in the cultural or museum sector.
  • Knowledge of listed building and planning processes.
