Full Job Description

To undertake design tasks in accordance with the business requirement / project programme so as to enable the delivery of the project to the client; within pre-determined standards for quality, time, and budget., Engineering Design- Following research, evaluation and assessment, to prepare:

  • Concept / general arrangement and detailed design drawing
  • Design calculation
  • Analytical reports
  • Provision of data, theory, formulae, stress analysis etc.
  • Respond to client or internal colleague enquiry and take necessary action to develop an effective solution
  • Contribute to Project Team Reviews through the provision of relevant and informed technical / design information
  • Project Delivery
  • Assist in project delivery by carrying out design tasks
  • Prepare project documentation for design review and project reporting
  • Undertake project studies and develop design solutions
  • Prepare justifications and submit design variation reports
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Contribute to the development of business by the internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligence
  • Appreciate and understand the potential impact of own actions for the Company, clients and suppliers
  • Ensure that client is kept informed and aware of design status / technical matters throughout and as required by the Project Manager / Lead
  • Bid support
  • Support in the initiation of the design development process providing suitable supporting information as required
  • Provide and co-ordinate as necessary all bid support design and design development documentation

    Educated to degree level or equivalent in a technical discipline or equivalent in a technical discipline
  • Membership of appropriate professional institute IOSH 'Managing Safely' or formal H & S qualification Previous technical capacity in a highly regulated industry Demonstrable experience in the production of manufacturable concept and detail design using appropriate software products Familiar with recognised quality system & requirements Familiar with radiological protection, its management and operation Preparation and presentation of reports and papers etc. Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information If you are a talented CAD Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects and work with a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.,
  • AutoCAD: 2 years (preferred)

This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.
