Full Job Description
Gap Technical are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled CAD Technician. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and documentation of electrical and lighting systems. The role includes reviewing, fine-tuning, and revising drawings to ensure precision and compliance with project specifications. A strong understanding of schematics, single-line diagrams, and the use of design tools is essential. Performance Objectives Drafting and Designing:
- Review and update detailed technical drawings using CAD software
- Create and modify single-line diagrams and schematics as per project requirements. Revisions and Markups:
- Incorporate red pen schematics and feedback into existing drawings to reflect necessary changes
- Ensure revisions are documented and accurately implemented. Electrical Detailing:
- Design and layout black cable configurations based on technical specifications
- Produce detailed drawings for small lighting systems, ensuring functionality and aesthetic considerations. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality checks to ensure drawings meet industry standards and project specifications
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve design inconsistencies or technical issues. Documentation and Coordination:
- Maintain accurate records of drawings and revisions
- Coordinate with other departments to integrate designs into broader project plans.
Diploma - CAD Design, Engineering, or a related field - Proven experience as a CAD Technician, preferably in electrical or lighting design. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and small lighting designs
- Knowledge of standards and regulations related to electrical systems and lighting design. Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Experience in designing electrical systems and layouts for commercial or industrial projects.
