Full Job Description

United Living are recruiting for a CAD Technician to join our growing Major Projects team to provide engineering support for major infrastructure projects. This is a project role, based at our head office at Warrington and requiring travel to work at our project office in Stanlow, Cheshire. All of the projects being developed by the Major Projects team are Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects across the UK, the first being a Carbon Capture Pipeline in the North West commencing from January 2025., Data and Product Management:

  • Perform fully proficient work in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other drafting software. Some knowledge of interfacing with ArcGIS data preferred.
  • Flexible to adopt appropriate drawing standards and protocols to suit project requirements.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks on CAD data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Review and interpret Engineering requirements to scope and create precise and detailed design drawings
  • ️ Organisation:
  • Identify and resolve issues related to system interfaces, performance, and reliability.
  • Maintain organized documentation and records of drawings, revisions, and project files.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Ensures timely Responsible for producing and amending engineering design drawings prepared by the site Engineering Team and manage own workload.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to understand project requirements, ensuring accurate and efficient drafting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of drafting policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, principally engineering design drawings for construction management and planning.

    Proven experience in working with AutoCAD for the production of 2D drawings. We particularly seek candidates with experience of preparing plan and profile drawings for linear constriction projects. 3 - 5 years experience of working in a similar role preferred.
  • Organisational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and coordinate activities across multiple activities. Strong understanding of preparing 2D drawings from 3D models required. Prior experience of groundworks and temporary works design preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to contribute and work well with a team and takes ownership of all CAD matters. Up to date with the latest developments in Professional Competence. Support and develop - create a local leadership team by delegation, coaching, and mentoring. Decisiveness - makes day-to-day choices that ensure progress of the overall project, knowing when to inform others or ask for support., Relevant degree that provide a solid foundation such as Bachelor's in 3D Design, Civil Engineering, or closely related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
