CAD Technician - Highway Structures - Esher

We are currently seeking a skilled technician with typically 4-5 years+ experience to produce high quality engineering CAD models and drawings for highway structures and bridges. The focus is on the technical engineering draughting ability as opposed to ability to use different BIM software.,

  • Competent technician able to interpret engineering drawings and sketches prepared by the engineers and translate these into appropriate AutoCAD models (3d and 2d) and drawings for bridges / highway structures
  • Ability to work to and follow BIM project delivery and quality standards
  • Ability and experience working to project timeframes and budgets delivering accurate models and drawings.
  • Sound understanding of make-up of typical highway structures / bridge components, such that candidate understands what they are modelling and drawing
  • Experience and ability to help supervise and train more junior members of the team (e.g. new apprentices) to produce accurate, appropriate engineering drawings and models in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Good communication skills (listening, verbal, writing); ability to work in a team with other CAD technicians and engineers, Other BIM software (such as Revit, Civil 3D, Infraworks, Microstation. Not essential as training will be provided as necessary
  • Other software skills (e.g. Bluebeam Revu, MS Word) would be seen as an added benefit
  • Reinforced Concrete (RC) detailing experience (not essential as training will be provided, HNC or equivalent
  • EngTech (desirable)
