CAMHS Advanced Practitioner

Croydon CAMHS is pleased to offer an exciting 12-month fixed-term / secondment opportunity for a CAMHS practitioner who would like to further develop their skills in Community CAMHS referral management and clinical skills working with children & young people with a range of mental health difficulties.
The post is split between the Croydon Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Single Point of Contact (EWMH SPOC) and the Croydon CAMHS Getting More Help Treatment Team.
The successful candidate will have a first level nursing qualification / registration RMN, RSCN or HV or first level qualification in OT, clinical or counselling psychology, systemic psychotherapy, social work, or equivalent in art, play, drama or music therapy. All applications will require professional registration with a statutory body: the Nursing Midwifery Council, General Social Care Council, UK Council for Psychotherapy or Health & Care Professional's Council., Duties will include processing of referrals, triage assessments for children and young people with emotional wellbeing and / or mental health needs, making appropriate referral recommendations as well as the provision of advice, education and support to service users and their carers or family members.
In addition, the successful candidate will offer assessments and evidence based interventions to CYP presenting with a range of mental health disorders as well as managing a clinical caseload.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work alongside the wider multidisciplinary team with access to a range of learning and professional deSouth London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK as well as substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. There are very few organisations in the world that have such wide-ranging capabilities working with mental illness. Our scope is unique because it is built on three major foundations: care and treatment, science and research, and training and dopportunities., The post holder will join the Croydon CAMHS Treatment Team and the Emotional Well-being & Mental Health Single Point of Contact (EWMH SPOC), both teams of multi-disciplinary professionals who provide assessment, treatment, care coordination and planning for children and/or young people with moderate to severe mental health and neuropsychiatric difficulties, under supervision of the team leader and relevant clinical supervisor.
· To provide a specialist support service, including management of referrals, to Children and Young people with moderate to severe mental health problems, and their families including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
· To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
· To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate.
· To undertake service evaluation, audit and research.
· To work as an autonomous professional within registry body guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by the policies and procedures of the service, taking responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decisions with support of clinical supervisor.
