Full Job Description
As part of this exciting new development, we are introducing a range of new roles to complement our current service provision and extend the range of interventions available for children and young people.
We are looking for three experienced Occupational Therapist, who will provide highly specialised Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people receiving community based and inpatient care from our child and adolescent mental health services. The three posts are available within our area-based community mental health teams and will provide input specifically to the area-based eating disorder pathway. Of these, one 0.5WTE post will be based in the East Area (Wareham and Flintshire , one 0.5WTE post in the West area (Gwynedd, Mon, Dwyfor Meirionydd) and one 0.36WTE in the Central area ( Conwy and Denbighshire) .
Post holders will have relevant experience within this clinical area, and be able to support the delivery and development of an effective and evidence based Occupational Therapy service in CAMHS, as well as contribute to the wider Occupational Therapy service.
This post will be supported by the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and the Band 7 Occupational Therapist in CAMHS . There are clinical networks which the successful post holder will contribute to and that provide opportunities for peer support., The post holder will follow professional codes of conduct and ethics carrying a varied specialist caseload in a specialist area of practice which will include patients with complex needs. Clinical activities can take place in a wide range of settings including hospital, clinic and community settings and patients own homes.The post holder may be required to supervise, Occupational Therapists,Occupational Therapy support workers and OT students The post holder will support the learning and development of others including colleagues and peers. The post holder will contribute to service developments providing advice as a specialist within their department which can include attending meetings and participation in audit, service evaluation and researching evidence based practice.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
