Full Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our innovative and dynamic CAMHS team. The post holder will be a member of one of our community-based teams working in partnership with social care, health and education agencies. To deliver accessible therapeutic support for children & young people with a range of emotional & mental health difficulties. The children & young people who access our services present with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties ranging from mild to moderate. As a CAMHS Level 2 Practitioner you will be an integral team member offering consultation, assessment and evidence-based interventions to children and young people we serve. The post-holder will work as part of the Targeted CAMHS Citywide team in the community as part of a multi disciplinary team delivering, high-quality; brief outcome focused therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, these may include anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.
- Relevant professional qualification in mental health nursing, psychotherapy, counselling or above in a relevant field. IAPT or therapeutic training highly desirable, for example; Post graduate qualification in CBT, BA counselling or psychotherapy.
- Direct experience as practitioner in a mental health setting with children.
- Knowledge and skills of how to work therapeutically with Children & Young People with anxiety, depression, and other mental health related problem issues.
- Ability to provide effective interventions, experience of facilitating group work, training, consultation and assessments including risk assessments. This role will involve working with vulnerable Children & Young People with risk behaviours.
- Knowledge and existing skills regarding a range of therapeutic interventions and their application to practice for a wide range of mental health presentations. Including a sound knowledge of theory and its application to evidence based practice. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
